Apple’s upcoming iOS 18 is set to introduce a new way for users to navigate their music. By long-pressing the currently playing song in the bottom navigation bar, users can quickly access their playlists.
So imagine you’re playing Friends Mix or New Music Mix, available in the home tab, or maybe some other playlist like the Replay or your own customized. There are times when we tend to forget what playlist we are playing; it is this time when this new functionality would help one the most, going back to the playlist to look at the other songs or whatnot.
However, for those who prefer a more familiar approach, fear not. The classic method of accessing playlists by tapping the artist’s name on the now-playing screen remains intact. This makes me question why Apple would add the same functionality but make it more hassle to access. The current option is more than easier to access the playlist.
Either way, this new feature is undoubtedly a welcome addition, but honestly, it’s reassuring to know that Apple has retained the tried-and-true method for those who have grown accustomed to it, like me. What do you think of this new iOS 18 Apple Music feature?
