The slider toggle switches in iOS 7's settings don't include any words to indicate whether or not something is active — like On or Off — but they do turn green to show they're active. That's nice, but not all apps offer the green visual cue, and some people may have trouble with colors, too. That's an easy fix because Apple includes a setting that helps make it much easier to tell the difference between the On and Off state.
Here's how to enable On/Off Labels for app settings:
- Tap Settings
- Tap General
- Tap Accessibility
- Activate On/Off Labels
Without labels (right) iOS 7 you're missing out on a visual cue to tell when something is active (right)
With On/Off Labels active you'll see a circle in settings toggles when they're off, and a vertical line when they're on. The extra visual cue is really handy in apps that use Apple's built-in toggles for their own settings, but use different colors — or even none at all — to show when a setting is enabled.
