Jimmy Iovine, Tim Cook, Dr. Dre, and Eddy Cue (from left).
It goes on to state that Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young (sorry, I mean Dr. Dre) as well as their employees will be joining Apple. Then the memo actually gives some news the announcement didn't have, stating that the Beats Music team will report to Dr. Cue (referred to in the memo as just Eddy), and that the Beats Electronics team will be under Phil's leadership. Specifically the memo says this about Beats Music:
Beats Music was built with deep respect for both artists and fans. We think it’s the first subscription service to really get it right. Both Apple and Beats believe that a great music service requires a strong editorial and curation team, and we will continue to expand what we do in those areas. The addition of Beats will make our incredible iTunes lineup even better, extending the emotional connection our customers have with music.
There is no mention of the Beats brand going away or even being rebranded as iTunes Beats (for example), and with the price drop on yearly subscriptions it looks like the service is here to stay, name and all.
