Apple Details iPad 3G Data Plans

The iPad Web page states “So if you have a business trip or vacation approaching, just sign up for the month you’ll be traveling and cancel when you get back. You don’t need to visit a store to get 3G service. You can sign up, check your data usage, manage your account, or cancel your service — all from your iPad.”

iPad with 3G support owners can sign up for wireless data service on the device, and if they choose the 250MB a month plan, they’ll see indicators showing when they’re within 20 and 10 percent of their monthly data cap. There’s also an option to bump up to the unlimited data plan if you use more than the 250MB cap.

The iPad is a multimedia tablet device that runs a version of the iPhone operating system and includes a 9.7-inch multitouch display. It supports music and movie playback, includes an ebook reader, supports most iPhone apps, and is available with Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi and 3G wireless data support.

The 250MB a month 3G data plan from AT&T is priced at US$14.99, and the unlimited monthly data plan costs $29.99.
