Fresh rumors about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series continue to emerge, and the latest suggests a big upgrade to the front camera. According to renowned analyst Jeff Pu, all iPhone 17 models, including the speculated iPhone 17 Slim, which might also be the most expensive in the entire 17 lineup and replace the Plus variant, will have a 24MP selfie camera.
This means it’d be a big step from the current 12MP sensor found in the iPhone 15 series. The new camera is also said to feature a six-element plastic lens, compared to the five-element lens in the current generation.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about a 24MP front camera for the iPhone 17. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted a similar upgrade for at least one model in the series. With multiple sources corroborating this information, it’s becoming increasingly likely that Apple will equip its next-gen iPhones with a higher-resolution selfie camera.
The iPhone 16 series is still a month away from launch. Still, honestly, it’s fascinating to see details about the models that are already surfacing online. And, of course, you should know that these are just rumors, and specifications can change before the final product is unveiled.
Here are the rumored specs of the back camera of iPhone 17. Not just this, these also consist of the rumors of cameras for iPhone 18 and iPhone 19. iPhone 17 might also offer pro camera controls with mechanical aperture.
