Apple’s 2025 iPhone lineup could include a new model priced above the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Rumors point to a unique design focused on thinness and, hence, a higher starting price.
Early reports suggested this phone, which could’ve been called “iPhone 17 Ultra,” would have top-of-the-line specs, a new design, and an ultra-thin profile. But recent leaks offer a different picture.
Current rumors say this new model will have a 6.65-inch display, placing it between the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max sizes. The Pro model could also have three 48-megapixel cameras. The “iPhone 17 Slim” might not be the absolute performance leader. It’s rumored to feature an A19 chip, while the Pro models might receive the upgraded A19 Pro chip.
RAM capacity might differ, with 8GB for the Slim compared to 12GB in the Pro models. Material choices could also vary, with the Slim potentially using aluminum instead of the titanium rumored for the Pro models. Not just this, even the base models will finally be getting 120 Hz refresh rate screens.
Apple might choose to name this model the first “iPhone Air” because of its thinness, or “Slim” could be the final name. But I have a question: when it comes to Macbooks, since when have Macbook Airs been more expensive than the Pro models?
Would users prioritize a slimmer design if it comes with less powerful specs at a higher price point?
