iSkin Cases for The 2nd and 3rd Generation iPod Touch

iSkin has released a couple of new case designs for the often overlooked iPod touch. Each offers some unique features that should appeal to the touch aficionados.

touch Duo

The primary feature of the first one, called the touch Duo, is a polycarbonate ViSOR™ that snaps over the face of the unit when not in use to protect against scratches and impact. It is very light weight and the bulk it adds is negligible. When you are ready to use your unit, the cover snaps on the back of the touch until you are ready to put it away.

The outside surface of the case is textured to allow for a good grip. Another feature is an integrated docking port protector that closes over the docking area when not in use and shields out dirt, dust, and protects if the unit is dropped.

Each case comes with a sheet of anti-glare, anti-fingerprint screen film. It is available in Diablo (red/black), NighHawk (expresso/black), Sonic (blue/black), and Ozone (frosted clear/black).

It is priced at $34.99, and it will not work with the first generation iPod touch.

touch Vibes

The second case, called the touch Vibes, features a subtle color on color texture design that is both attractive and functional in that it is easy to grip.  The flexibility of the case makes it easy to attach.

Included with the case is an ultra-clear screen protector to help guard against scratches, dirt, dust, etc. and a detachable 30-pin docking port protector. Also included is an iSkin Dock Adapter that works with the Apple Universal Dock so that you do not have to remove the case when recharging.

The color choices, all of which are shiny, are Reflex (blue frosted), Blaze (red frosted), Carbon (black frosted), Rave (purple frosted) and Pure (clear frosted). If you have a tendency to forget where you have left your iPod touch, you should consider the red one. I guarantee it will help you keep up with it without having an otherwise  garish case.

This style case is priced at $29.99. It will not work with the first generation iPod touch.
