Just Mobile’s Highway Car Charger Is First-Rate

I really love getting something new to review from Just Mobile because I know it’s going to be interesting, beautiful and well made. The Highway car charger lives up to my expectations. It charges iPhones, iPods, and iPads. The MSRP is US$34.99. I found it on Amazon for about the same price, but shipping will be better from Amazon.

This product is available in two versions, all black or black with aluminum trim. There is one USB port. The Highway includes a surge protector and 2.1 amp charge output. It contains a tiny green LED power light that sits flush with the design to let you know when your device is receiving a charge. The coiled charging cable is Apple-certified and the Highway has a one year warranty against defects.

Using the product

One of the best features of the Highway is the ability to charge not only iPhones and iPods but iPads as well. I found that it took no more time to charge my iPad using the Highway than it did when plugging the iPad into a wall outlet. The difference being, of course, that the car engine must be running for the Highway to receive power.

I have a very small car, the SmartFor2. I wondered if the large plug on the Highway would fit in the recessed cigarette lighter socket built into my car. It does in fact, fit quite nicely and because of the size of the plug I can easily see the green LED light that lets me know my device is being charged. The thick, coiled charging cable is a nice touch because it stays out of the way.

Do I recommend it?

I do. Like every other product I have seen from Just Mobile this is a quality product and one I trust to charge my Apple products. Very few, if any, car charging cables will charge an iPad which makes this one particularly attractive.
