Kanye West Wants to be the Next Steve Jobs

Just exactly what those products and services are is still a little murky since Mr. West apparently hasn’t moved beyond simply wanting to make those things and actually moved into the design and production phase.

Kanye West, ready to pick up where Steve Jobs left offKanye West, ready to pick up where Steve Jobs left off

He shared his plans on Twitter Wednesday evening, offering up comments such as “We want to help simplify and aesthetically improve everything we see hear, touch, taste and feel,” and “I want to put creatives in a room together with like minds that are all waaaay doper than me.”

Mr. West expects his sharply focused company will draw top minds from architecture, graphic design, music, legal firms, health sciences, education and more to staff 22 divisions.

If Mr. West’s plans don’t sound anything like Steve Jobs, that’s probably because they aren’t. Where Mr. Jobs had tight control over product design, along with a clear plan as to what products Apple would focus on, Mr. West seems to be going with a much looser “lets make cool stuff” approach without a targeted focus.

For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what waaaay doper products and services Mr. West cooks up.
