A couple of people, including Mr. Farr, wrote me about one of the first installments, basically saying to me: “So now Apple invented the use of colors, huh?”
I hear what you are saying. But I want you to take note of the fact that I am not accusing Sharp Electronics or the other companies (I wish I had a link to that hockey puck hair gel container, but the companyis site was not active last I checked) of plagiarism. Nor do I think they are doing anything bad.
But do you really think that if Jonathan Ive, chief designer for Apple, had been struck dead by lightning in 1997 and there never was an iMac, that there would still have been a “Half Pint” microwave oven in transparent plastic and shipping in six primary colors? Never. Never.
Not plagiarism, not rip-off, but certainly inspiration. Not a bad thing, but only something that shows Appleis power.
You have to understand something about this series. Eolakeis eyes are kind ones. You will seldom find anything nasty here. Other writers are good at being pissed off over the flaws of the world and writing biting comments about it, and more power to them, but it is just not me. I like focusing on the positive side. It makes me feel better, and that makes me happier and more productive.
So in other words, if you are in doubt about what I mean sometimes, bet on the positive interpretation, that is the safest. OK? 🙂
