AdColony snags Apple iAd exec Mike Owen
iAd is Apple’s own service for delivering in-app ads to the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The service supports interactive advertisements and has been touted as a tool for drawing in more potential customers.
Mr. Owen isn’t the first executive to leave Apple’s iAd program. Andy Miller, Apple’s vice president of mobile marketing, left in August 2011 when he joined Highland Capital. Mr. Miller had been part of the launch of Quattro Wireless — a company Apple purchased when it was developing iAd.
Apple replaced Mr. Miller with Todd Teresi, Adobe’s former vice president of the media solutions group.
