On Monday, Apple announced that the second series of Snoopy in Space, as well as Peanuts specials, will be on its streaming service. It looks like more than just being available on Apple TV+, the specials will be exclusive to it.
Peanuts Specials Exclusive to Apple TV+
Vulture reported that ABC, where Peanuts specials have been shown since 2000, had not been scheduled by the broadcaster, at least not through early November 2020. Furthermore, a source at Apple indicated that the catalog of specials will indeed be exclusive to its service. That’s despite a hint from an ABC representative that the network could still offer the programming. Buying old episodes alongside original programming has long been mooted as a way Apple TV+ could make itself a more compelling offering. This looks to be the latest move in this direction.
If they grab the of Rankin and Bass specials, Jakers: Adventure’s Piggley Winks, Jane and the Dragon, Winnie the Pooh and a few other nice series, Apple could make a great go as a kid Magnet. Could shore things up with the stuff for older kids like Avonlea series too.
