Japanese PC manufacturer Scythe has cut to the quick for Windows using iPod fans: The company is marketing a PC case whose white design and front looks like an iPod, according to a report from Japanese site PC Watch (found via The Register UK). Not too coincidentally, the case is called A-POD.

The center piece to the design is a control-wheel like arrangement of buttons and panels. Above that is another panel that roughly resembles an iPod screen, but is actually an access door. Above that are the drive bays, with the overall effect serving to make the thing look like an oversized iPod.

The A-POD is going to be priced at 11,800 (US$105 at current exchange rates), and will be released on July 14th. As of this writing, the Scythe Web site does not include information about the product, but you can find additional images and specs at PC Watch.

Apple legal is not known for looking fondly upon companies that copy the look and feel of its industrial design, but there’s no word yet on whether the company is taking issue with the design.
