Apple has released the latest beta versions of iOS 18, making it the final updates before the official launch next month. The tech giant seeded iOS 18 beta 7 to developers and public beta 5 to general testers, alongside updates for iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and other operating systems.
According to Apple analyst Mark Gurman, iOS 18 is likely “feature complete” with these releases, barring any exclusive features for the upcoming iPhone 16, which will come in new colors, including a new one in 16 Pro.
Now, let’s talk about what’s new in these updates. The updates have brought minimal visible changes, with most improvements happening under the hood. Some changes in previous betas were renaming the Apple Music “Browse” tab to “New,” a dedicated Bluetooth control in the Control Center, and refining app icon tinting based on wallpaper settings.
With the public release of iOS 18 expected in September, with the iPhone 16 launch event, these beta versions are one of the last opportunities for testers to provide feedback. The exact launch date remains unconfirmed, but speculation points to either September 4 or September 10.
As the iOS 18 beta cycle nears its end, users may have a more refined and stable experience compared to previous versions.
