Music and podcast playing service Deezer unveiled two new iOS 14 widgets on Monday. They allow users to quickly access playlists based on listening preferences and identify songs playing nearby.
Deezer Widgets in iOS 14
Widgets were one of the key features of iOS 14, and Deezer has now moved to take advantage. Songcatcher is a Shazam like tool that tells users which song they can hear. Flow, meanwhile, creates a personalized playlist. Lucas Serralta, Deezer’s VP of Design and User Experience, commented:
When we created our new widgets we wanted our users to have a faster and simpler way to get to two of their most favorite features. When it comes to Flow, the widget truly makes it a lean-back experience, giving you a personal world of music with a single convenient touch. And, as an added benefit, we’ve made sure you’ll never miss a song again by making it faster than ever to catch the tunes around you without having to go into the app. This is only the first step for our widgets, so watch this space for more to come.
You can access both of the tools by:
- Holding down on the Home screen
- Tapping the ‘+’ sign in the top left-hand corner
- Tapping Deezer in the list of available widgets
- Swiping between Flow and Songcatcher to add one or both
