New wireless chargers are a given, with the new MagSafe feature included on iPhone 12. SanDisk announced two new wireless chargers today, including one that can back up your iPhone. Neither of the SanDisk iXpand wireless chargers, though, support the MagSafe feature announced on iPhone 12.
A Charger That Also Backs Up Your iPhone
The new SanDisk iXpand Wireless Charger Sync can provide up to 10W of Qi power to your iPhone or other Qi-compatible smartphone. Not only that, the accessory will automatically back up your photos and videos, in full resolution, onto the charger. Unfortunately, without MagSafe support, theiiPhone 12 will only benefit from 7.5W of wireless charging.
The iXpand Wireless Charger Sync supports multiple profiles, so you can share it with others in your family. It’s available with 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB of storage capacity. The soft pad will keep your iPhone from slipping, and the charger is case-friendly, charging through most rubber, plastic, or TPU cases less than 3mm thick.
A SanDisk iXpand Wireless Charger That’s Quick and Effective
The SanDisk iXpand Wireless Charger 15W will allow super-fast Qi charging. It will push through 15W of power, getting your iPhone battery ready to use again quickly. Once again, however, this won’t be so effective for iPhone 12, delivering only 7.5W of Qi charging.
This charger features a soft rubber ring to protect your phone from slipping. It comes with a SanDisk AC adaptor, which features Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. You also get a 4.5-foot-long USB Type-C cable. SanDisk says the charger will work with AirPods Pro, iPhone 8 and up, and any other Qi-compatible phone.
No MagSafe Support?
Surprisingly, neither of the SanDisk iXpand wireless chargers support the new MagSafe technology shipping inside the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. New product designs are in the works for months, and SanDisk probably didn’t get the required specifications in time to support MagSafe.
