A new accessory called TinyPod has recently launched, giving Apple Watch users a new way to use their device. The case replaces the Apple Watch’s straps and integrates a click wheel similar to classic iPods. This click wheel is somehow attached to the Digital Crown; moving your finger around will rotate the crown and scroll up and down the screen.
TinyPod is best when used with cellular Apple Watch models as a mini phone. This can allow users to make calls, send texts, and access music without carrying their iPhones. If you ask me, it could be a mini iPhone.
Disabling wrist detection, a feature that keeps the Apple Watch unlocked while worn, is necessary for TinyPod to function. While TinyPod claims this improves battery life, it also restricts features like Apple Pay that require authentication through wrist detection or passcode.
But, with wrist detection off, users would need to enter a passcode frequently to use the TinyPod as a mini phone. Alternatively, leaving the watch unlocked would be less secure. I talked about the same issue when I covered Cake, a similar product that turns your AppleWatch into somewhat of a Rabbit R1.
TinyPod comes in two versions: a standard version with the click wheel for $80 and a lite version without the wheel for $30. Users interested in a nostalgic click-wheel experience or a lighter way to stay connected on certain occasions may find TinyPod appealing.

Reminds me more of those OG PlayStation Memory Cards that had a screen on them. Probably because it’s shaped like an egg.
