The big event is finally here – QuickTime Live is next week!
The event of the year for the QuickTime community opens next Tuesday, February 12 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Right now the team is polishing up the exhibits, running through the demois, testing all the equipment and getting ready to host you at what is shaping up to be the most exciting technology conference in a long time (since the last QuickTime Live). Note the announcement today about QuickTime downloads outpacing Real Networks in 2001 – the anticipation around the conference is tremendous and the team is ready to show you a great week!
A few last minute tips to get you ready:
- The Keynote – the opening keynote will be presented by Phil Schiller, Senior Vice President of Product Marketing at Apple. The keynote begins at 10:30am PST. This year, in addition to all conference attendees, we will admit pre-registered exhibits-only attendees to the keynote. You MUST have a badge to enter the keynote. Please keep in mind that there is always a line to get into the presentation, and we recommend arriving early to get a good seat.
- The Exhibits – weire excited to present 35 QuickTime developers in our Product Showcase. Also – the brand, new, ultra-cool iMacs will be on display. The Product Showcase is open to the public on Wednesday, February 13 from 10:30 – 4:00 and on Thursday, February 14 from 10:30 – 3:00. Itis all QuickTime, all the time – donit miss it!
- The Prizes – What would an event be without great prizes? Weive got the a treasure chest of exciting door prizes that weire giving away each day at the show including OS X Leather Jackets, software from Adobe, Macromedia, Totally Hip, MovieWorks, an iPod, and our grand prize of a cool, new iBook. You must be present to win so come down – check out the cool new products, schmooze with the QuickTime wizards and see if youire name appears on our prize board! Prizes are selected throughout the day.
