Apple released an updated third beta of iOS 18 to registered developers today. Users will have more control over the Home Screen. Additionally, a dark mode for app icons and tint is also available.
The Control Center can also be customized to include controls for third-party apps, and Lock Screen icons for Flashlight and Camera can be replaced or removed entirely.
Messaging is receiving an upgrade in iOS 18. Other messaging features include the ability to schedule texts, utilize new text effects, send messages over satellite in areas with limited cellular coverage, and choose any emoji for Tapback responses.
Apple is also introducing new apps and features. A dedicated Passwords app will manage logins, passkeys, Wi-Fi passwords, and verification codes. Users can now lock and hide apps, requiring Face ID or Touch ID authentication even when the phone is unlocked for an extra layer of security.
Apple Intelligence is planned for later integration and will be limited to specific devices.
The public beta is also out now, and users can test the upcoming features and provide feedback before the official release.
