Apple’s Web tribute to Steve Jobs
Apple announced last Wednesday that Mr. Jobs had passed away and updated the company Web site with a special tribute to its former CEO.
Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.
Mr. Jobs had suffered from pancreatic cancer, and later received a liver transplant. He stepped down as company CEO in late August and took on the role of Chairman of the Board.
Apple plans to host a private celebration of Mr. Jobs’s life for company employees on Wednesday, October 19.
