Skype Offers Vouchers to Apologize for Outage

“We know how important your Skype conversations are to you and we take any disruption to our service very seriously,” the company said in its letter, which was signed by CEO Tony Bates. “We are pleased to confirm that Skype is back to normal allowing you to connect with friends, co-workers, family and loved ones.”

On December 22nd, Skype went down for several hours for some customers, and longer for others. In addition to offering the voucher, Skype has posted a detailed account of how the service went down and what the company is doing to prevent such an outage in the future.
