Picture if you will a classroom of children busy with crayons and paper who have been given an assignment to draw a house. If there are 25 children there will probably be 25 different versions of houses when the task is finished. That’s the creative process that most children have in abundance.
Those who are lucky enough to retain that skill into adulthood may end up in product design, so that when you say to two different groups, “we need a soft iPad case”, you get two completely different soft cases. Both with excellent features.
I’m looking at two such cases today. The first is by iLuv and the second by XtremeMac.
The iLuv Case
Samples of some of the iLuv Soft iPad Cases
The iLuv case, Model iCC2010, is very thin and reacts like fabric might in that when empty you can roll it up. However, that should not be confused with a lack of sturdiness or protection. It is made from water resistant neoprene and lined with an ultra soft material that will protect your iPad from scratches. The outside edges of the case are reinforced to protect from bumps and dents. An iPad in this case should easily fit into briefcases, backpacks, large handbags, etc.
The MSRP is $24.95 and it comes in black, blue, green, orange, gray, tan and pink. I found cases on line starting at $16.
Features
The case is designed for side entry and has a zipper fastener that zips from half way up one side to half way down the other. It is easy to insert and remove the iPad.
The outside front features two deep pockets. One is wide enough to hold my iPhone.
The Xtreme Mac Nylon Sleeve Case
Xtreme Mac Nylon Sleeve ipad Case
As noted in the introduction, there are soft cases and there are soft cases. The Nylon Sleeve case by Xtreme Mac offers different attributes in its soft style case. It’s an inch thick with strongly reinforced edges and has thicker padding than the iLuv case. The exterior is nylon and the interior is composed of a soft plush material that feels wonderful and will protect your iPad from scratches. This case should easily fit into backpacks, some briefcases, or be carried alone.
The MSRP is $49.99. It is only available in patterned black with an orange interior. Using my iPhone SnapTell app I found prices ranging from $47.99 to $105 for this product.
The Features
The case is designed for top entry and has a zipper fastener that zips from half way up one side to half way down the other. It is easy to insert and remove the iPad.
Do I Recommend Them?
I do. It is completely a matter of what you consider to be important features when purchasing a soft iPad case, but either of these two products present with the primary requirements. They are well constructed, have good quality linings, offer reinforced corners, and have zipper closures with openings large enough to easily maneuver your iPad into and out of the case.
