Release Notes

watchOS 7.0.2 contains improvements and bug fixes, including:

  • Addresses an issue that could cause the battery to drain more quickly
  • Resolves an issue that prevented some users from accessing the ECG app in regions where it is available

To install the update your Watch will need at least 50% battery life. Open the Watch app on your iPhone and go to General > Software Update.

  • Andrew:

When I upgraded my old Series 4 to watchOS 7, I noted a sharp drop in battery life, seldom making it through a full 20 hour day, and often going into the red after 14 – 16 hours of operation.

It’s great that there is now a bug fix, but just in case anyone’s battery life does not return to pre-OS 7 performance, I found, as has been previously suggested with battery life issues, that un-pairing then re-pairing the watch with my iPhone restored the watch to its pre-OS 7 performance.
