On his Twitter account, famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo posted that Apple may not launch an iMac Pro until 2023. He also said that Apple may announce a new 27-inch external display without Mini-LED instead.

Contactless iPhone Payments May Be Just Around The Corner
Contactless iPhone payments could be enabled in a future iOS update, Mark Gurman wrote on Wednesday. It means that small business could accept credit card payments directly with an iPhone, without needing a terminal such as Square. Jeff Butts has more information here.
In order to accept payments on an iPhone today, merchants need to use payment terminals that plug in or communicate with the phone via Bluetooth. The upcoming feature will instead turn the iPhone into a payment terminal, letting users such as food trucks and hair stylists accept payments with the tap of a credit card or another iPhone onto the back of their device.
A Larger Apple Watch Screen Means More Informational Faces
Rumors claim that the Apple Watch Series 7 released Fall 2021 will have bigger screens. As Mark Gurman reports, this means watch faces can add more information.
The bigger model will have a resolution of 396 by 484, versus 368 by 448 on the model it’s replacing. That increase means the device will have about 16% more pixels, allowing it to show more so-called complications — an industry term for the bits of information that appear on watches. The smaller model will see a similar jump, but both watches will have thinner borders around the screens.

Don’t Count on an Apple Car Any Time Soon
Some news outlets claim that the Apple car could be ready for production with a revolutionary battery by 2024. Mark Gurman has a report on Thursday saying that the car is five to seven years away, which is still in the general area of a half decade.
Still, some Apple engineers on the project believe the company could release a product in five to seven years if Apple goes ahead with its plans. The car is nowhere near production stage, the people said, though they did warn timelines could change. They asked not to be identified discussing sensitive, internal work. The majority of the team is currently either working from home or at the office for limited time, slowing the company’s ability to develop a full vehicle. An Apple spokesman declined to comment.

New Feature ‘Sleep Mode’ Could Arrive on iOS 14
Apple leaker Fudge (@choco_bit) claims that a new feature coming to iOS 14 will be called Sleep Mode.
When Sleep Mode is enabled, the lockscreen will dim, calls and alerts that arrive while locked will be silenced, and notifications will be sent to history. Emergency alerts will break through. Sleep will analyze your sleep patterns based on your iPhone usage at night.
Bedtime in the Clock app can set an alarm and track your time in bed. Do Not Disturb can silence calls and alerts. So if this rumor is true then it sounds Apple is rebranding and combining these disparate features into one Sleep Mode toggle.

Will Apple Kill Beats? Probably Not This Year
As shared by The Loop, there is some speculation on whether Apple will end the Beats brand. iMore says Apple should kill it, while 9to5Mac claims to have learned there is no plan to kill it. It started because of a separate rumor that Apple will release over-the-ear headphones under the AirPods brand. Quote from the iMore piece:
If Apple is truly planning to release over-the-ear noise-canceling pair of headphones similar to the Bose 700 has Jon Prosser suggests, it would be incredibly redundant to continue to release Beats as well. The Apple brand is just more valuable to Apple than the Beats brand — plain and simple.
My two cents is that Apple will probably phase out Beats, but not this year. It will be a gradual process over the next 10 years, like how the iPod touch still gets an occasional refresh but otherwise isn’t mentioned. You can’t kill a brand like Beats overnight. Once over-the-ear AirPods come out, and they will, phase one will be complete. There will be an AirPod for each Beats category, because you can’t leave customers hanging without alternatives, thank you very much.

Alleged Apple Employee Says 'Things are so Broken Here at Apple'
A conversation on Hacker News from an alleged Apple employee says that things are broken at Apple and no one communicates.
Broken management structure. I have had many managers (a red flag in itself) but even worse none of the managers take suggestions from engineers. Everything is purely top down. If an engineer realizes there is a problem on a macro scale they cannot fix it. It is literally impossible to unite more than 1.5 teams to get anything done.
Obviously there is no way to tell if they are real or not (At least, my surface research for these linked teasers can’t tell). Another commenter mentions “overt sexism that I’ve been witness to in iCloud management…”
