How To Install iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Dev/Public Beta

Apple released the latest iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Beta versions right after the WWDC 2024 Keynote. These early builds let you test upcoming features before their official debut this fall. While functionalities powered by Apple Intelligence might be missing, you’ll still get to explore a range of redesigned and improved apps for now. Here’s how to install the update on your iPhone or iPad.

Before installing the beta version on your device, you must sign up for the Apple Beta Software Program. It is a mandatory process that will allow you to access all the beta updates in the future. The Public Beta build arrived a month after the WWDC 24 event, although the Developer Beta version was instantly made available.

Developer Beta is less stable and can contain bugs. Public Beta is slightly more stable, although you’ll still encounter some bugs and glitches now and then. Regardless, I suggest creating a backup of your device or installing it on a secondary device before testing.

  1. Open Settings and tap General.
Go to Settings and open General
  2. Go to Software Update and open it.
    Select Software Update
  3. You will see the Beta Updates option below the Automatic Updates section.
  4. Select iOS 18 Developer Beta or iOS 18 Public Beta then tap Back.
