Heavy demand for all Mac models and astonishing sales for full size iPods in the UK was reported by MacWorld UK on Monday.
Strong sales have been reported for all iMac models, MacBooks, and Mac Book Pros. Resellers have reported short supplies of the 1.66 GHz Mac mini and iLife i06.
So far in the quarter, more than 120,000 full-size iPods have been sold, but iPod nano sales are even stronger at close 200,000 units. iPod shuffle sales also are reported as strong with 140,000 units sold in the quarter.
The one Mac model not selling out is the Mac Pro. "Mac Pro systems seem well supplied, with channel partners creating stockpiles of the machines in expectation that the release of Adobe Creative Suite 3 will drive upgrade sales when the software ships," the report said.
While the Apple TV has not yet shipped, resellers reported that they expect that product to become a "hot potato."
Previously, TMO reported on how Apple has fine tuned its TV ads to take into account the local culture in the UK. Itis probably no coincidence that those TV ads have led to the surge of sales in the UK.
