Kerio Technologies introduced Kerio MailServer 6.6 on Tuesday. The updated version of the groupware and email system added the ability to manage shared company resources for meetings and events, like rooms and projectors.
The resource scheduling tools in version 6.6 let users view and manage shared resources, reserve resources for events, and send invitations to other attendees. It also auto-emails messages that let attendees acknowledge, accept or decline invitations, and offers resource restrictions that allow administrators to limit who can use specific rooms or items.
It also offers improved support for mobile email clients, allows iPhone users to view attachments, and includes an auto-configuration tool for using iCal with MailServer.
The company also introduced Kerio Exchange Migration Tool. The Windows-based application handles the process of moving content from a Microsoft Exchange Server into Kerio MailServer. It migrates email, calendars, contacts, tasks, domains and user accounts, along with shared folders and user access rights. Exchange Migration Assistant is backwards-compatible to Exchange Server 5.5.
Kerio MailServer is compatible with Microsoft Entourage and iCal. It is priced starting at US$499 for 10 users.
