Apple will host its annual stockholder meeting on Friday, February 28. The iPhone and iPad maker uses the annual meeting for stockholder votes on company issues, and to field questions from investors.
Apple's stockholder meeting will be on February 28 this year
This year's meeting has the potential for drama and fireworks since big time investor and Apple stock holder Carl Icahn has been pushing for a more agressive stock buyback program than the company is currently following. Mr. Icahn has backed down some from his push for an additional US$150 billion in stock buybacks and is now urging for an additional $50 billion.
The stock buyback program helps boost the value of the stock that's still publicly available. Apple plans to complete its buyback plan by the end of 2015.
Shareholders that plan on participating in the voting process must complete their online ballot before midnight the day before the meeting.
Apple is currently trading in the pre-market at $537.77, up 2.04 (0.38%) after closing on Monday at $535.73, up 2.79 (0.52%).
