Apple walked away from the D&AD;Awards Thursday night with two "black pencil" awards for the iMac and iPhone designs. The awards are extremely difficult to win, but Apple has managed to score six since 1999, making it the most successful company in the 45 years since the awards ceremony began, according to The Guardian.
Both of Appleis products won their black pencil awards in the Product Design category. The iMac took the top honor for Work & Industry, and the iPhone for Leisure.
Jonathan Ive, Appleis Senior Vice President of Industrial Design, commented "One of the things that makes D&AD;credible is they wonit give an award if the work isnit good enough."
The other black pencil winners included three advertising agencies: Fallon; Goodby, Silverstein & Partners; and Proctor Inc; and the National Gallery Grand Tour.
