Apple Updates MacBook, Boosts Speed

Apple updated its MacBook lineup on Tuesday with faster processors. The new models look like their predecessors, but feature 2.0GHz or 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo processors. The MacBook is still available in black or white with a 13.3-inch display, and ships standard with 1GB RAM, 4MB shared L2 cache, 667MHz frontside bus, an Intel GMA 950 graphics processor, Gigabit Ethernet, built-in 802.11n AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, stereo audio out, built-in microphone, built-in iSight camera, one FireWire 400 and two USB 2.0 ports, video out, and an Apple Remote.


MacBook: It looks the same, but faster.

The white 2.0GHz model includes an 80GB hard drive and 24x Combo drive for US$1,099. The white 2.16GHz model includes a 120GB hard drive and 8x SuperDrive for $1,299. The black 2.16GHz model ships with a 160GB hard drive and an 8x SuperDrive for $1,499.
