AT&T says the first weekend of iPhone 5 pre-order sales broke company records, making Apple's newest smartphone the fastest selling model to date.
The cell service provider said in a statement,
AT&T set a sales record with iPhone 5 over the weekend, making it the fastest-selling iPhone the company has ever offered. Customers ordered more iPhones from AT&T than any previous model both on its first day of preorders and over the weekend.
AT&T didn't offer up specific numbers, unlike Apple. According to Apple, it sold more than 2 million iPhone 5 pre-orders during the first 24 hours.

The iPhone 5 includes larger Retina Display than the iPhone 4S at 4-inches instead of 3.5-inches, support for high speed LTE wireless data connections, a faster processor and longer battery life, Apple's new Lightning dock connector, and more.
Apple introduced the iPhone 5 during a media event last and said pre-order sales would start on September 14. The phone will be available in stores on September 21, and lines are already forming outside some Apple retail locations.
