Maxtor Corporation introduced Monday two second-generation, Mac-ready OneTouch II external storage drives, which are available immediately in both 250GB and 300GB sizes for US$330 and $380, respectively.
Both drives come with an exclusive version of Dantz Retrospect software for backing up data, a Maxtor password protected DriveLock security feature, the option to create a fully bootable backup copy of a main system drive, and improved restore functions to allow users to instantly revert their drive to a previous system state.
The drive has a 7200 revolutions per minute mechanism with 16 megabyte buffer and both FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 connectivity, the company said in a press statement.
Maxtor also announced large size OneTouch II external storage drives will be available later this year, but did not give specifics.
